Tourism : Ambassador Jabu Mbalula : Around 2,000 Romanian tourists in South Africa, in 2018
About 2,000 Romanian tourists visited South Africa in 2018, said on Thursday Jabu Mbalula, Ambassador of this country in Bucharest.

Last year, the number of Romanian tourists visiting South Africa was just over 2,000, the Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa told AGERPRES, at the opening of his country stand at the Tourism Fair, the spring edition.
He noted that among the attractions of South Africa, there is remarkable biodiversity - there are 800 bird species and 5.8 percent of the Planet's mammals. South Africa has 21 national parks, 1,333 natural reserves and 8 sites of UNESCO World Heritage.
Among the attractions of South Africa I can mention ethnographic diversity, people are very welcoming and friendly, the fauna can be found in safaris, towns, and especially a street with the homes of two Nobel laureates of South Africa - Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu, the ambassador said.
He mentioned that South Africa also has a "very complex strategy that deals with South Africans' visits to Romania. According to him, in April last year, a workshop was organized in Romania with the participation of travel agencies. It was an interactive meeting, in which we presented our offer to the Romanian agencies and so did they, in order to facilitate the best possible exchange of tourists, said the South African diplomat.
