The wines of Bulgarian Producers awarded with Gold and silver Medals at te International Wine Contest Bucharest 2014
The Bilateral Chamber of Commerce Bulgaria – Romania ( BCCBR) is proud to announce the performance of the Bulgarian wine producers, represented by them, at the 19th Edition of the International Wine Contest Bucharest 2014, organized under the patronage of the International Organization of Wine and Vineyard, between 22-25 May 2014, a press released to ACTMedia informs.
From a total of 712 wine labels registered in the competition, coming from 19 countries, were judged 15 Bulgarian samples, 6 of them being medalled. The samples from Villa Yustina 4 Seasons Summer – Traminer – from the vineyard Domani Yustina LTD and Encore – Syrah – from Katarzyna Estate LTD obtained Gold Medals at the respective categories, and another 4 Bulgarian varieties wined Silver Medals.
Is a notable performance taking in consideration the exigencies of the jury formed of 21 members, 9 from Romania and 12 from abroad. The experts from France, Italy, Germany, Swiss, USA, Columbia, Bulgaria and Moldova appreciated the quality, the colour and the type of the wines registered in the competition together with experts participating for the first time – Hong Kong, Poland, Croatia and Slovakia. On the other side, the Bulgarian wines were in competition with many other titles: almost 400 from Romania, no less than 110 from Moldova, 68 from Italy, respectively countries with tradition, famous vineyards and numerous titles and types of wine from the region.

The statistics of the contest, published by IWCB showed that the 712 samples registered were 673 white wines, rose and red, 43 sparkling wines and 6 beverages with vine origin. From the total 624 samples were from the still wines category, 24 were collectable wines, 7 special wines (Porto, Madera, Tokay Aszu) and 6 natural wines.
The Bulgarian wine producers were present at IWCB through the Bilateral Chamber of Commerce Bulgaria – Romania, whose president, Mr. Doru Dragomir who received the medals for the producers, at the Awards Gala organized on 03.06.2014 at the Romanian National Library: “It is an acknowledgement first of the quality of the Bulgarian wines registered in the contest and the Bulgarian producers deserve our congratulations for the medals wined in such a select company.” He said during the Gala. It is also about the BCCBR efforts to bring together the interests of the businesses from the 2 countries, improving the trade and the cultural exchange.” added Mr. Dragomir.
