Romanian automotive market shrinks 15 pct in H1

The automotive sector, which is extremely important for the Romanian economy, had a disappointing evolution in the first six months of 2011, as sales of new cars fell 15 pct compared to the same period last year, the Association of Automotive Manufacturers and Importers (APIA) informs. Total sales of new vehicles stood at 50,272 units, of which 11,732 units in June alone. Car sales dropped 18.3 pct to 43,233 units as to 52,911 in the first half of 2010. The best selling brands ...
