Romania’s IT market, up by 14-15 pc last year
The IT market in Romania has increased by 14-15 percent in 2017, the growth rate being similar to those recorded in 2014 and 2015, namely 12.5 percent, 14 percent, Euler Hermes, Allianz subsidiary, shows in a press release, romaniajournal.ro informs. Compared to 2016, the growth was slower, just 9 percent.
However, the growth is threatened by poor infrastructure,.
”In real terms, the increase in 2017 would be significantly lower if we consider December inflation for non-food goods of around 4 percent over the same period of the previous year,” the release reads.
Euler Hermes also notes that, in recent years, mobile phones are the ones that top the growth rates by over 25 percent, followed by home appliances, where the small ones have been exchanged for large and electronic ones. There is also a tendency to increase the share of phones and laptops in the medium and premium category, with positive effects on margins.
The printing equipment market continues to decline, and the IT sector is only growing on the laptop segment, with consumers looking more on the range peaks. The concentration of the retail market is high, with Altex and Flanco leading, followed by Dante International, accounting for about 60 percent of the total market.
Banks have also shown an increased appetite for financing the needs of circulating capital over the past two years, relying on the upward trend in consumption.
