Romania in 2010 had the highest number of agricultural holdings in the European Union, namely 3.856 million or 32 percent of the overall EU 27, show figures made public by the European Statistics Office (Eurostat) on Wednesday.However, Romania is placed last but one in the EU by the average area of the agricultural holdings, with an average 3 hectares, on the same spot with Cyprus.
