Recordings of new vehicles increased by 61.64% in June

 

Recording of new vehicles increased in June by 61.64% up to 9,920 units, while the increase in cars was 75% as compared to the similar period of 2013, according to the Department for Driving Licences and Recording of Vehicles (DRPCIV), published on their own site.

 

In June, Dacia continued to be the leader in the Romanians’ preferences by 2,526 units (+182.23% against June 2013). Next come Ford (613 units, +200,49 %), Volkswagen (598, +7,94%) and Skoda (579, +59,94%).

 

According to DRPCIV in the sixth month of the year out of 9,920 units, a numberof 6,947 units were represented by cars, up by 75,12% as compared to the similar intervat of last year.At the same time, increase was recorded in buses and vans (+106.67%, 62 units)vehicles with special destination ((+80%, 36 units), semi-trailers (45,12%, 238 units),goods transport vans (+32,19%, 1.158 units) and trailers (+29,94%, 612 units).

 

As regards the category of the rarest makes recorded in the DRPCIV statistics we have Mini (9 units), Jaguar (7), Lexus, SsangYong ?i Subaru ( 3 each), Alfa Romeo and Lada (two each), Bentley, Infiniti , Lancia, Smart and Tesla Motors (one each).

 

The official data of DRPCIV show the fact that at the end of 2013 the national fleet reached the number of 5.98 million units, up by 4.73% against the same period of the previous year. From this total, almost 4.7 million units were cars and over 3.3 million had petrol engines.

 

At the same time, 1.91 million vehicles in the national fleet were older than 6-10 years, and 1.42 million units had a degree of usage between 11 and 15 years.Almost 1.14 million of cars were older than 20 years old. Moreover at general level, 2.35 million Romanians preferred Diesel cars and 3.32 million cars have petrol engines.
