Infrastructure: Romania, 10th in Europe for cheapest plane tickets
The price of an airplane ticket in Romania is an average 12 US dollars for every 100 km, two times more than in Portugal, but half the cost of tickets in Belgium or Denmark, according to a study made by online travel agency Kiwi.com from Czech Republic.
According to data, the average price of low cost domestic flight is 6.89 dollars/100 km in Romania, while it is 37 dollars/100 km on the overall market. For international flights, the average is 1.69 dollars/100 km for low cost and 12.3 dollars/100 km on the overall.
The travel agency took into account prices of over a million plane travels to the most visited 75 countries in the world. Romania ranks 10th in the European Union and 27th in the world for the cost of airplane tickets/100 km.
Portugal ranks first in EU with an average price of 6.7 dollars, followed by Sweden and Bulgaria. On the other hand north western European countries like Finland, Holland, Belgium and Denmark are last in the top.
At global level, India in first for the price of an airplane ticket (3 dollars/100 km), while the most expensive airplane travels are sold by the United Arab Emirates, according to kiwi.com, which took into account both domestic and international flights.
