Infrastructure: Henri Coanda Airport gets Airport Council International health accreditation
Henri Coanda International Airport Bucharest (AIHCB) received the health and safety accreditation from the Airport Council International – ACI World, the National Airport Company Bucharest (CNAB) informs.
“This accreditation represents an important step in maintaining passenger confidence and that of airport employees (ours or of other entities – air or handling companies, state institutions, etc) that we have adopted all measures needed to protect their health and safety. At the same time it is an important step in our efforts to recover our activity and get the aviation industry back to normal, after being seriously affected by the pandemic,” said Florin Dumitrescu, the general manager of CNAB.
For the accreditation of AIHCB, protection measures adopted in passenger terminal, public areas and in all interaction areas with passengers – check-in, security control, customs control, boarding/landing and baggage claim were evaluated in the Airport Health Accreditation program.
Measures adopted for airport personnel protection and training, for cooperation with other entities as well as operational and maintenance activities were also evaluated.
Communication, especially with passengers, was an important chapter in evaluation, CNAB pointed out.
All elements evaluated were backed by official documents, joint action plans and specific procedures applied and were accompanied by recordings.“After evaluating the evidence presented in our evaluation process, your airport proved it offers safe airport experience to all passengers, an experience that is according to recommended health measures, established by ACI for restarting and recovering aviation business, upon recommendations made by the Action Group of the International Civil Aviation Organization Council and according to the best practices in the industry,” said Luis Felipe de Oliveira, the general manager of ACI World in a letter of congratulation.
