Infrastructure: CFR SA has started the programme for railway infrastructure maintenance
CFR SA has started the programme for maintenance of the railway infrastructure and consolidation of the parts on the whole of the railway network, managed locally by the eight regional branches, the company announced on Friday. The National Railway Company "CFR" - SA is the Romanian Railway Infrastructure Manager.
According to the quoted source, these maintenance works are made in direct labour operation, with CFR equipment and specialty railway personnel – having the purpose to improve the exploitation capacities.
At the same time, the CFR SA representatives consider that the maintenance programme for the railway infrastructure is organised on stations or certain intervals of stations and includes categories of specialty works, such as: mechanical splitting of crushed rock, mechanised lubricating works, rail replacement, fixing elements, level adjustment works, vegetation cleaning,mechanised unclogging/ unsilting to ensure the flow of silts.
