Herculane Spa ranks first in strategy developing balneal tourism
Herculane Spa rank first in the strategic plan to develop balneal tourism, said Maria Grapini, the delegate minister for small companies and tourism, on a visit in the resort. Balneal tourism is the first priority in the government strategy for tourism, followed by cultural tourism and ecotourism.
Minister Grapini had talks both with representatives of the local administration and businessmen and announced harsh measures for investors who leave tourist units to decay. At the same time she accused the local administration of not finding the legal means to punish culprits. The mayor of Herculane Spa, Nicusor Vasilescu pointed out that there were many problems because of the monopoly held by Hercules Company. The most urgent works involve water and sewerage infrastructure and street repairs.
