Dragos Anastasiu: Labour force and lack of fiscal predictability, main worries in tourist industry
Labour force deficit and the lack of fiscal predictability represent the main worries of the tourist industry, said Dragos Anastasiu, the founder of Eurolines Romania Group, at a press conference on Thursday.
“The main problem of Romania and of our industry at present, is labour force, human resources. We could develop in the hotel area and in the travel agency area too, we have everything we need to do it at an accelerated rate, from finance to brand. But we do not have enough human resources. Four million Romanians have gone abroad and there are a few hundred thousands in Horeca. That is an important barrier. That is why everything that means automation, everything that means online is a focus because we are in a deep human resource crisis. That is why we are cautious about future increases and we are worried too,” Anastasiu said.
“People from HR, PR and marketing have to change 800 work contracts by Christmas, without really understanding big benefits. Instead of developing and thinking how to make next year better, we negotiate collective work contracts, with each person aside,” the Eurolines representative said.
Hotels, restaurants and coffee shops (HORECA) in Romania are hiring about 197,500 persons.
Eurolines Romania Group activates in the field of transport and tourism and has about 800 employees.
