CERONAV, first institution in Romania become member of World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure
The Romanian Centre for Training Waterborne Transport Personnel (CERONAV) has joined the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure (PIANC), thus being the first institution in Romania to have become a member of that association.
CERONAV's Executive Ovidiu Cupsa, informed on Thursday, via a press release, that within the PIANC professionals from all over the world join their forces to provide specialist consultancy on efficiency, safety and durability of the relevant infrastructure in order to facilitate an increase in maritime and river transport.
'The PIANC is the main partner of discussion for the government sector as well as for the private one in terms of design, development and maintenance of ports, waterways and coastal areas. As a member of the PIANC, CERONAV will be able to develop cooperation relationships with the affiliated members through the working groups that we will attend, and we will also promote the image of the institution overseas,' Cupsa stated.
According to him, one of the upcoming events of interest for CERONAV is the 6th session of the International Conference PIANC - Smart Rivers, which will take place in September in Liege and Maastricht, where the participants will debate issues pertaining to the implementation of some modern IT technologies for inland waterborne transport, integration of inland waterway transport into multimodal transport chain and efficient management of ports and waterways.
