Cars: Logan,Duster and Sandero in top 25 the best sold models in Russia

Duster, Logan and Sandero were in top of the best sold 25 models in Russia according to the data published on Monday by the Association of European Businesses (AEB), but the deliveries of cars and vans on this market dropped by 16.6% at 109.410 units, as there are issues in the economy and the rouble went down, Reuters says.

Last month, the first in the top of the best sold cars in Russia was Solaris from Hyundai (7,904units) followed by Rio from Kia (7,632 units), Lada Granta (6.334 units) and Lada Vesta (5.198 units), both built by AvtoVAZ, Polo from Volkswagen (4.135) and Duster, with 3.094 units. 10th and 13th are Logan and Sandero, with 2.501 and 2.054 units respectively. Duster, Logan and Sandero are made by Renault.

The decline of the auto sales in Russia will be double this year against the previous estimates, after the weak performance of the Q1 of the year, estimated last month Joerg Schreiber, the chairman of Association of European Businesses.The deliveries of cars and vans will drop in 2016 by 10% at 1,44 million units, announced the head of AEB who previously had predicted a decline under 5% at 1,53 million units.

In the first seven months of 2016 in Russia were sold 781,605 cars and vans dropping by 14,4% against the similar period of 2015.

In the period of January – July 2016 the first place comes to the best sold cars in Russia was Solaris, from Hyundai (53.834 units), followed by Lada Granta (50.301 units) from AvtoVAZ, Rio — Kia (47.086 units), Lada Vesta (28.092 units) from AvtoVAZ and Duster — from Renault, with 26.400 vehicles. 10th and 12th are Logan and Sandero with 16,331 and 15,552 vehicles respectively.

Renault owns a share of 50% from the holding which controls AvtoVAZ while the Japanese partner Nissan Motor Co, owns a share of 17,13% and the Russian state corporation Rostec has a package of 32.87%.Together Renault, Nissan and AvtoVAZ were responsible for approximately a third of the 1.6 million new cars sold last year in Russia, but even so, their combined sales dropped by 32% annually.
