Cars: As many as 2,285 eco-friendly cars of which over 1,800 hybrid purchased January through May
The number of the green cars traded in Romania January through May parked at 2,285 units, up by 69pct against the same period of 2018, the statistics of the Car Producers and Importers Association (APIA) informs.
The eco-friendly cars weight in total sales nationwide was 3.4pct versus 2.3pct in same interval of 2018.
Out of the total eco-cars sold January through May, 1,814 units were hybrid, up by 71pct vs same period of 2018, 379 units were 100% electric (+149.3%), and 92 units were plug-in cars (-34.3%).
According to the producers and importers' data, in top of the most sold full electric cars in the relevant period parks Nissan, 119 units, seconded by Renault, 81 units, Volkswagen, 67 units, Smart, 59 units, BMW, 40 units, Jaguar, 9 units, Audi, 2 units and Mercedes Benz, 1 car.
The most hybrid cars sold in the relevant period were recorded by Toyota, 1,611 units, Lexus, 82 units, Honda, 32 units, Ford, 30 units, Kia, 26 units, Hyundai, 16 units, Suzuki, 14 units and Land Rover, 3 units.
Mitsubishi is in pole-position of plug-in cars' sales with 30 units, followed by Volvo, 28 units, Land Rover, 20 units, BMW, 7 units, Mini, 4 units, Mercedes-Benz, 2 units and Porsche, 1 car.
