Agriculture: Poland, the country Romania imports cheap eggs from
Poland ranks first in Romania's egg trade in EU, in point of quantity, with 3,899.16 tons in the first 9 months of 2019, and second in point of value, after Hungary, with 4.17 million euros, according data supplied by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR).
In the mentioned period of time, 1,742.44 tons eggs, of 6.32 million euros was imported from Hungary.
Bulgaria ranks third with 894 tons eggs, worth 1.4 million euros, Germany – 138 tons (1.347 million euros) and Italy-436 tons (1.339 million euros).
MADR data show that Romania imported 10,733 tons eggs in the first 9 months of 2019 from EU and third markets, for 23.2 million euros, of which 7,858.73 tons fresh, preserved or boiled eggs and 2,874.66 tons of hen eggs without shells and fresh, frozen or preserved yolks.
According to ANSVSA, 73,129 tons of chicken meat and 45.855 million eggs came from the EU area.
Chicken meat imports were 98,520.25 tons of 133.22million euros over January-September 2019.
Top 5 of EU trade with fresh, frozen or refrigerated chicken meat and organs, includes Hungary with 25,939.8 tons (37.9 million euros), followed by Poland with 19,148 tons (20.991 million euros), Germany – 15,799 tons (17.69 million euros), the Netherlands -9,517 tons (11.37 million euros) and UK – 8,361.1 tons (7,243 million euros).
