ACEA: Sales of vehicles Dacia in Europe increased with almost 24%in September

The sales of Dacia recorded in September an advance of 23.8% in Europe ( EU plus the EFTA countries) and the market share of the auto constructors increased from 2.3% to 2.4% according to the statistics of the Association of European Constructors of Vehicles (ACEA) published on Tuesday.

Registration of Dacia in Europe was last month 35,648 units, up against September 2016 (33,824 units).EFTA is made up of four states: Island, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.

The French group Renault and PSA Peugeot Citroen reported in September growth of the sales of 0,4% and 70.1% respectively. The German groups Volkswagen and Daimler registered last month a decline of the deliveries of 1.1% and 1.2% respectively while the sales of the American company Ford dropped by 13%.

In March PSA Peugeot Citroen acquired Opel and the British brand Vauxhall  and starting with 1 August 2017 the registrations of Opel and Vauxhall are included in the PSA group.

In the first nine months of this year, the deliveries of Dacia registered a growth of 29.5% in Europe and the market share of the auto builder increased from 2.8% to 3%. The registrations of Dacia in Europe were 256,697 units, up against the similar period of 2016 (322,937 units).

The French groups Renault and PSA Peugeot Citroen reported an advance of sales of 6.7% and 15.5% respectively, while the American company Ford registered a decline of 0.% and the German groups Volkswagen and Daimler had increase of 2.2% and 6.6 % respectively between January and September 2017.

The Dacia company was taken over by Renault in 1999. Relaunched in 2004 with the Logan, Dacia has become one important player on the European auto market.
