INSCOP Poll: Over 83% Romanians consider debates among presidential candidates are important
Over 83% of Romanians consider important that debates among candidates should be organized before presidential elections, according to data of an INSCOP Research opinion poll.
Thus, 83.5% of Romanians think it is very important or important enough that debates should be organized among candidates before presidential elections (56.1% of Romanians consider it is very important that debates among the main candidates should be organized and 27.4% think it is important enough).
Only 14.6% of Romanians consider debates are not important or not important at all (3.9% that it is not important enougn and 10.7% that it is not important at all). 1.9% do not know or would not answer that question.
At the same time, 92% of Elena Lasconi's voters, 90% of Marcel Ciplacu's voters, 87% of Mircea Geoana's voters and 77% of George Simion sympathizers think debates are important.
“Debates between candidates to various representative positions (president, mayors) have been rather rare of late.For that reson, and in order to better know the abilities of participants in the election race, most Romanians (83.5%) think that debates before the presidential elections of Nove,ber 24 are very important or important enough, while voters of the main candidates expect them with more enthusiasm,”said INSCOP Research director Remus Stefureac.
The sociological study was made following the request of “Libertates”daily over October 11-18, through CATI method (phone interviews), the volume of the simple sample being 1,106 persone , representative for significant socio-demographic categories (sex,age,occupation) for Romania's non-institutionalized population, aged 18 and over. The maximum data error admitted is plus/minus 2.95%, at a confidence degree of 95%.
